B-1 commits a blocking foul against dribbler A-1.  It is Team B’s 7th team foul of the half.  However, Team A is awarded a throw-in.  B-5 rebounds a missed try by A-5 and passes the ball ahead to B-1 who scores.  Before the ensuing throw-in begins, the horn sounds and play is stopped.  The scorer notifies the officials of the missed bonus free throw opportunity.

Handle the situation.

The play described below is provided for your review and discussion. The rulings given are based on NFHS rules. NCAA rulings may be different.

Both teams are in the bonus.  A-1 passes the ball to A-3 in the corner behind the three-point line.  As A-3 is beginning the motion to shoot but with the ball still in her hands, B-5 pushes A-5 in the lane and is whistled for the foul by the Lead official.  A-3 continues her motion, releases the try and the ball passes through the goal.

Handle the situation.

Both teams are in the double bonus.  During a throw-in, thrower A-1 attempts to pass the ball to A-3.  B-3 is in position to intercept the pass.  Before B-3 can gain control of the ball, A-3 commits a common foul against B-3.

This is the last quiz for this fall.  I want to wish everyone good luck on any exams that you have to take as well as a great season.

1. A1 throws a pass to A2 and B1 intentionally uses the thigh to deflect the pass. The trail official rules a kicking violation. T-F.

2. For a kicking violation to be ruled, the “kick” must be intentional. T-F

3. A ball is at the disposal of the thrower-in when the ball is bounced to the thrower-in. T-F.

4. A ball is at the disposal of the free thrower after the free thrower catches the ball after its bounced to them. T-F.

5. The ball is in flight from a pass from A1 to A2. As the ball is in flight,  B1 is ready to intercept the ball. The Head Coach of Team A requests a timeout. The officiating crew denies the request. T-F
