The play described below is provided for your review and discussion. The rulings given are based on NFHS rules. NCAA rulings may be different.

A-1 grabs a rebound in the air and pushes it back toward the basket as B-1 fouls him.  The try is unsuccessful.  The foul is B-1’s 5th foul.  After the coach has been notified, B-1 returns to the bench and rips off his jersey.  The center official rules a technical foul on B-1.

Handle the situation.

No players will line up for any free throws.  A-1 will attempt two free throws for the foul during the unsuccessful try attempt.  Any Team A player or eligible substitute will attempt the free throws for the technical foul on B-1.

Since the technical foul on B-1 occurred after the coach had been notified of his disqualification, the head coach receives an indirect technical foul and loses the use of the coaching box.

Play will be resumed with a throw-in from the division line opposite the table after all free throws have been attempted.

Nice Play. The Officials need to correctly administer the fouls in the order that they occur
and put the ball in Play afterwards
