The play described below is provided for your review and discussion. The rulings given are based on NFHS rules. NCAA rulings may be different.

With five seconds to go in a close game, A-1 drives to the basket and is intentionally pushed in the back as he lays the ball up on the backboard.  The ball goes through the goal.

Handle the situation.


A-1 has been fouled in the act of shooting.  Since the ball passed through the basket, the goal is scored.  A-1 will be awarded two free throws as a result of the intentional foul.  Team A will be awarded the ball for a designated spot throw-in from the spot nearest the foul.
