The play described below is provided for your review and discussion. The rulings given are based on NFHS rules. NCAA rulings may be different.

With 42 seconds left in the game, it is discovered that Team A has two players wearing the number 5.

Handle the situation.


Assuming that there have been no other administrative technical fouls regarding starters, team member lists, etc., Team A will be charged with a technical foul.  Team B will attempt two free throws and be awarded a throw-in from the division line opposite the table.  This technical foul is considered administrative.  As such, the head coach retains the right to use the coaching box.
