The play described below is provided for your review and discussion. The rulings given are based on NFHS rules. NCAA rulings may be different.

A-1 drives to the basket and is fouled by B-1 while scoring.  After the play is over, A-1 and B-1 start yapping at each other and a double technical foul is ruled.

Handle the situation.


B-1 will receive a personal foul for the contact on A-1.  Both A-1 and B-1 will receive technical fouls.  If either A-1 or B-1 has reached a total of five fouls in the game, that player is disqualified.  If this disqualification is A-1, A-1’s substitute will attempt the free throw.  
The double technical foul is a point-of-interruption play.  Play is resumed with the free throw for the personal foul against A-1.
