The play described below is provided for your review and discussion. The rulings given are based on NFHS rules. NCAA rulings may be different.

Both teams are in the bonus.  Team B is down by 4 when they score a three point goal to pull within one point with 4.2 seconds left.  Team B requests and is granted a timeout.

After the timeout A-1 throws a long pass toward A-4 in the frontcourt.  A-4 pushes off B-4 to get open to receive the pass and is whistled for the foul while the ball is in the air.

Handle the situation.


Since A-4’s foul is during the throw-in, it is a team control foul.  No free throws will be attempted.  Team B will be awarded the ball at the spot nearest the foul.
