The play described below is provided for your review and discussion. The rulings given are based on NFHS rules. NCAA rulings may be different.

Time is running out in the 3rd quarter.  A1 attempts a last second try that is blocked by B1.  After the horn has sounded, B1 taunts A1 who taunts B1 back as both are headed to their respective benches.  The official rules a double technical foul for unsporting conduct.

Handle the situation.

A1 and B1 are charged with a technical foul.  Each team foul count is increased by one.  No free throws are attempted.  Since a double foul results in a point-of-interruption play, play will be resumed with the alternating possession throw-in for the 4th quarter.

Since the double foul occurred after the horn had sounded, both A1 and B1 are considered to be bench personnel.  As a result, both head coaches receive an indirect technical foul and lose the right to use the coaching box.
