The play described below is provided for your review and discussion. The rulings given are based on NFHS rules. NCAA rulings may be different.

A-1 is dribbling the ball in frontcourt when the ball gets loose.  The ball deflects off an official and goes into the backcourt where it is recovered by A-2.

Handle the situation.


This is a backcourt violation.  The official is considered to be part of the floor.  A-1 was the last to touch the ball in frontcourt and his teammate A-2 was the first to touch the ball after it went into the backcourt.

    Very Interesting Play. Correct, the ball went of the Official (part of the court). Therefore A-1 caused the
    ball to go in the Backcourt. Thanks!

    Email Hanbach and tell him not to waste your time on every play with merely correcrt, lol. If we all did this you would have 1000 +_ daily! -DB
