A-1 and B-1 jump to start the game. The ball is batted towards the sideline where it is caught by B-5 who is standing on the sideline.
Handle the situation.
Team A will be awarded the ball at the nearest spot out of bounds to where B-5 touched the ball. Since the touching of the ball (not the catching of the ball) caused the out-of-bounds violation, the alternating possession arrow is set towards Team B’s basket when the ball is awarded to Team A for the throw-in.
In this situation it is important to check that the table sets the alternating possession arrow in the correct direction.
