The play described below is provided for your review and discussion. The rulings given are based on NFHS rules. NCAA rulings may be different.

A-1 dribbles the ball off his foot.  A-1 catches up with the loose ball and recovers it with both hands.  A-1 then continues his dribble.

Handle the situation.


This is a violation for dribbling the ball a second time.  When the ball bounced off A-1’s foot, it became an interrupted dribble.  A-1 could have continued the dribble if A-1 had not picked up the ball with both hands. However, by picking up the ball with both hands, A-1 ended his dribble.  A-1 is not permitted to dribble again.
