The play described below is provided for your review and discussion. The rulings given are based on NFHS rules. NCAA rulings may be different.

During a jump ball, A-5 and B-5 both tap the ball which is then possessed by B-1 and A-1 at the same time.

Handle the situation.


A second jump ball will ensue.  By rule, A-1 and B-1 will be the jumpers.  This is different than what would happen at higher levels.

    It doesn’t matter who taped the ball on the jump ball, only who possesses the tap.

    No AP is established when A-1 and B1 gain possession at the same time resulting in a held ball.
