A-2, in the backcourt, passes the ball to A-1 in the frontcourt. The ball hits A-1’s hand and bounces on the division line. A-1 turns the bouncing ball into a dribble in the frontcourt.
Handle the situation.
This is a backcourt violation. When the ball hits A-1’s hand, it gained frontcourt status. When it hit the division line, it gained backcourt status. When A-1 touched the ball to start the dribble, A-1 had been the last to touch the ball before it went backcourt and is now the first to touch the ball after it went backcourt. It does not matter where A-1 is when this happens.
